(pun earnestly intended) I have hand picked the 12 players included in this comic because I have complete faith in them to create something that shines like a star. (Pun noted also) Every creative was tasked with pitching me a story from the simple prompt “Show me something alien” the wide breadth of tones and genres I feel convey how each of the creatives bring different perspectives and skills to the book. ‘Don’t Fold Presents: Something Alien’ will be on pre-launch from the 12th of may. The full launch will take place on June 17th.” Around the page are stickers drawn by some of the attached artists. A cat alien wearing a long sleeve short sleeve combo and trip pants. DON'T FOLD PRESS Is a new comic project by @peejalien.bsky.social and it's first project is going to be out of this world!!! 🛸👽🛸 #indiecomics

More text follows in a clearer font “In its simplest form, Don’t Fold Press is my way to make more comics I want to read. Every artist on our first project (which you’ll hear about in the following pages) was hand picked because I loved something they’d already made. The end goal for Don’t Fold is to have my little sticker represent a seal of quality. One way I look to do this is by promoting the creation of capital C comics. Work that can only be a comic. I want the books produced to be something that leans into the artform. Each and every story should in some way justify its medium. This isn’t an IP farm and we have no interest in a comics that reads like a screenplay. I want comics. This idea is central to the creation of Don’t Fold Press. I believe that this artform I love is enough.” Towards the top of the page is a sticker of a strange humanoid with ceremonial clothes and a UFO both rendered in a stylised way the former more manga style than the latters Cartoony style. At the bottom right of the page is a stack of comic pages. One of them includes the humanoid from the top of the page behind that a green cat alien is seen on the page. The last page is almost entirely obscured.

BRAIN POWER!
this is a panel from a comic, but it still has appeal without wider context: a stylised, roundish rabbit pushes up their circular glasses with a cheeky grin. the glasses sparkle as the light hits, and the rabbit chuckles, exclaiming “brain power!” the panel is coloured in a riso printing style, the bright and warm colours (yellows and sky blues) slightly overlapping. (If you are curious of the comic’s full context however, it is an applied comic explaining the benefits of crochet for physical and mental health)
