I finally got around to creating a simple static website with most of my free games and tools. Play my games online by clicking on the game's image, or visit the corresponding GitHub page. It also lists most of the places you may find me online 😎 0xc0de6502.github.io

My journey is similar as well. I wonder how many secretly aspiring Acorn Electron devs could still be out there 🤣

That sounds like a good approach! I am definitely putting the idea on The List™️ so I won't forget. It will be good fun but also quite a commitment to make 🧐

You are definitely a good egg then! 😄👍

It's going to be a great journey! What is your favourite 6502 machine?

It's a very familiar book but I don't think I ever read it 😁

See! This book will write itself =)

"The possibilities of the humble beeper are endless" 😅 (but seriously, some info about arpeggiated music, 1-bit sound/music/speech is definitely going to be valuable content)

Indeed! This is all very tempting (and time-consuming) 😄

... but here's how to write great games in MODE 2 anyway! (Citadel, Qwak, Zezito)
0xc0de.bsky.social
🤣 I'm sure the target audience of 2 people worldwide would thoroughly enjoy that!

Powerful in its simplicity 💪 Kick everything out with 1 instruction

I don't remember reading any books other than the standard user guide and the advanced user guide, which only partially made sense bitd

Please note that I haven't actually given this any serious thought yet 😅 One angle could be a focus on advanced game/demo programming techniques. With a chapter on using modern tools to do so. It would then be complementary to existing books that explain the basics 🤔

I understand what you are saying, but I know too little about specific BBC Micro hardware like the CRTC and sound chips. That said, 90% of such a book would be relevant to BBC Micro/Master owners as well 🤔

This looks awesome! Do we need something like this for the Acorn Electron? 🤔

Thanks Rob! The best part is that people other than me actually use it 🥹

You're welcome, enjoy!

Electroniq now supports importing text files (e.g. BBC BASIC programs) via "turbo pasting". It also supports exporting BBC BASIC programs to text files, for easy editing in your favourite editor.

🫶 Thanks Colin! Lovely positive thread about human creativity

Nice! The white-on-blue looks fine but doesn't really feel like being in outer space as white-on-black I guess
