who gets maybe 5 quote requests each opening, is keeping my prices where my current audience can afford my work, and enough to pay my own bills and keep myself alive and financially stable.

Charge what you deserve and then some. I just personally, with my limited reach and clientele, know that raising my prices will only run me out of business. I WANT to keep making fursuits, and what that looks like for someone like myself-

set their own prices, and get to wake up only to commute to their studio space in the room next to their bedroom like I do.

Not to say this job isn't hard, it's a lot of responsibility and obviously takes many years of hard work to get to a skill level to even make suits.

I guess my point is that being I feel beyond privileged to have making polyester rainbow animal costumes from my own home how I pay my bills and keep myself alive. Most of my customers haul ass at jobs where they unlike me, can't make their own schedules,-

Hell, there's a handful of makers I can think of off the top of my head that could easily raise their prices by 1k no matter what the economy was looking like.
