One of Basingstoke’s many zebra crossings?

No way will Reeves get any growth until she ditches austerity policies, tackles high prices incl for energy and returns us to the single market and customs union. If she doesn’t do all of those 3 things there will be no growth.

If indeed they do. No evidence in 16 months of govt that they have the balls or principles to fight the far right. Because of it the next election is almost already lost. The big issue however is the cost of living and austerity policies. They both feed grievances and the drift to the extremes.

3.5 million households owe money to energy providers. That’s £780m of debt. Wonder what it is in France Germany Spain or Italy? We should be told. I’m guessing we’re not as their debt is less.

How is Trump planning to disarm Hamas given Israel who are next door have not been able to do this in 2 years of war. As ever he says things which he does not substantiate.

Question: if those coming to Britain on small boats (a euphemism for illegal immigrants if ever there was) were all white would there be such an outcry, would asylum hostels be attacked?

So the IMF has said the UK will face the highest inflation in the G7 this year and next. And what are our govt doing about this greatest recruiter for Reform? They will through the OBR raise interest rates enriching the finance world after allowing the retail and energy companies to run amok.

You can almost feel affinity with someone who supports PR and democracy except with Corbyn it’s short hand for never having to make a decision. He’s a protester and a voter but not a decision maker. A party of 2 can’t even sit in the same room.

Corbyn and Sultana apparently won’t sit in same room together.

Netanyahu is probably laughing inside at Trump’s naivety. He knows because he is their mirror image, that Hamas will break the ceasefire because he will too. Hamas and Netanyahu are identical and with them negotiating for Israel and the Palestinians, there will never be a lasting peace.

People complaining about England “fans” behaviour in Riga, Latvia should understand this is no better than the colonialists in India for the example who looted stuff belonging to India - like Crown Jewels for example.

The former was nearer the truth.

Why are you defending this politician. I would never defend any politician. It’s strange that people like Corbyn and Farage engender almost idolatry among converts. 7/10 was never enough to convince left wingers voting in the referendum. Lynch, another left winger was pro Brexit.

Corbyn was a reluctant remainer which meant he became an enabler for a truly awful rw policy. He should have been far more assertive in supporting remain.

The left do have a real problem with those they describe as “centrists” don’t they? It’s almost like it’s a term of abuse. In fact I’d say they dislike centrists more than extreme right wingers which is kind of daft.
a1957.bsky.social
It is actually- as well as those groups you mention. Blair had a chance to make sweeping changes which would have stopped Brexit for example and Osbourne’s austerity but he chose not to. I’ve not heard any figure from the left outline constitutional reform in the way it’s needed and def not Corbyn.
a1957.bsky.social
The other reason Lab have a commons majority is our awful and out dated voting system, an issue Corbyn has never addressed as the left can’t embrace voter reform as it’s far to consensual.
a1957.bsky.social
10.2million votes and a landslide for the Tories. So another way of looking at this is that at one of its highest vote shares Labour got hammered. I can’t stand this govt or Starmer but I have even less respect for Corbyn who isn’t a leader but a perennial protester. He ducked the Brexit issue.
a1957.bsky.social
The problem with Lab MPs trying to alter the course of its govt is how little Reeves and Starmer listen to them. Best advice would be to make out they work for Tory press or are from Reform voting communities, then perhaps they’d get an audience.

Er… no you don’t. Exhibit A: 2019 election result.

Yep agree. Very one sided. All to do with skin colour of course.
