Secondly, Fascism needs its martyrs in order to legitimate persecution of political enemies. That's what this is all about.

If she wins, she'll be 79 when assuming office. Meanwhile Graham Platner, the progressive challenger is 41. Schumer has been pushing Mills to enter the race despite the popularity of Platner. The Democratic establishment will go to great lengths in order to keep the Left out of government.

Then why rule on them at all? Why is the instinct to rule against issues they haven’t “resolved”? And can she explain why the Roberts Court apparently has such a hard time resolving these issues - that they need to use the shadow docket more than any other Supreme Court before them?
