I appreciate that. Right now I think that the Northstar is that persistence and not to get back down in the futility of it. I recognized that what I’m asking for of folks is a big swing. I just have to keep my eye on the ball and just make surethat I’m ready if needed.

I think where we are today requires a concerted movement to try to help push back and it’s saddening to see so many big organizations that are Latino based not picking up the mantle. I just want to show we can do something…. Hope that helps.

That would bypass the entire App Store functionality altogether, but still give you background alerts. To me I’m already public facing enough. I’ve written 15 books so anyone who wants to try to find me I’m pretty easy to find.

had wanted to set up something that was text based, but I just couldn’t bring myself to set up something where someone had to originate with a cell phone number. Hence the app. Deicer.org can be run as a Progressive Web App — you can go to the map, hit the share button, and install on your Home scr.

Yeah. That’s one of the biggest problems in trying to work on something like this. I feel like there’s a certain amount of anonymity that people want to have both on the development end and on the reporting end. I can totally get that but that invariably causes trust problems

No, that’s actually a really good resource. They’re doing great work out here. That’s the one that has like an actual text and phone number so I would recommend it a lot of the stuff that I’m trying to do is ice detection but I also want to do rights awareness, which I don’t think they do.
