I think the mytharc held up fine in Season 1-3, started creaking in 4, and then became a total mess.

In all of it, both Gillian and David did an amazing job (as did the supporting cast), and given the sheer volume of episodes per season vs what we do now, it’s unreal how productive it was.

They’re gonna do this to the wrong person.

Thiel is what happens when someone gets so mad at being rejected for a SCOTUS clerk job that they decide they need to go full Bond villain.
aciumaficionado.bsky.social
It was earlier than that (Birther shit started in 2010- WHCD was 2011). And all of this was after Donald had given Obama a glowing endorsement in 2008.

Odds are- he asked for a bailout in 2009 (‘I’m bigly important like the banks!’, etc), and was told to fuck off.
aciumaficionado.bsky.social
They didn’t- they did an ensemble statistical analysis and specifically and pointedly look at circumcision.

You know, like Nazis, because that’s the fucking dog whistle they were blowing.

The cross tabs of people hitting ‘weak’ and ‘extreme’ is why we should give everyone a test for lead in their bones before letting them be able to vote.

More bluntly: when you hear Plenary, hear Tyranny.

The Constitution rejects and refutes plenary power as a thesis in any and all circumstances- it’s why we have co-equal branches.

They are borrowing monarchal arguments of divine right by the back door.

A Republic, if you can keep it.
aciumaficionado.bsky.social
Imo, the original sin was Marbury. A judicial opinion using circular reasoning to amend the Constitution to confer a power that was rejected multiple times at the Convention.
That usurpation led to norms overriding the ratified textual law.

Angus sincerely does not understand the theory Russ is working from- shutdown or no, he’s defying the Courts and Congress.

What’s your plan to stop him, Angus? Hope he does what Congress passes legislation for? He’s already ignoring it. You going to write a letter about it?
aciumaficionado.bsky.social
He’s also ignoring Marbury. That’s the entire ball game with respect the judicial branch.
He thinks we are in a ‘post-Constitution’ era, and that means he can do what he likes, because ‘fuck you, how you gonna stop me? Stare decisis? Stare decisively at Deez.’

The tepid whimper has emboldened him.

Literally dropped IEDs from choppers.

Like Assad did with barrel bombs. No prosecutions at all, because cop.
aciumaficionado.bsky.social
And doing so while ignoring Marbury- and the entire chattering classes of law and DC don’t seem to be getting the memo.
Courts can rule, but they cannot independently enforce. Vought is saying ‘fuck you, make me’. Unless State or Federal officers enforce- might as well be a blog post.
aciumaficionado.bsky.social
So long as this Executive abides by the courts, and doesn’t assert that Marbury is usurpation, and thus, the courts are remiss in telling them how to interpret the Constitution [Cue Vought violating 10A] and to enforce their rulings themselves.
In that eventuality the Courts are basically blogging.

Can see why he ‘forgot’ to take his LSAT…

And get rid of the ridiculousness of a single state veto.

You can go n-10% to force absolute supermajority, without requiring utter unanimity, and it stops the processes being delayed by malignant interests who otherwise would be entirely anonymous outside of their home country.

“Having a wedding? Throw Freedom soybeans not Communist rice! Coming to a plantation wedding venue near you!”
aciumaficionado.bsky.social
Really sticking to the script, aren’t they?
aciumaficionado.bsky.social
1) oh really, where?

2) you’re taking credit for the worst terrorist attack on the US? Or… what? Confused.
aciumaficionado.bsky.social
Affadavits and basic arithmetic.

We have sworn statements of more voters for a candidate than there are registered votes, and attempts to frustrate discovery by the vendor & election board, when the clear require to retain for 22 months is Federal law.

Oh, and ES&S turned off vote hashing.
aciumaficionado.bsky.social
Rockland County directly points at your fear and shows empirical evidence for that fear.
Quite noticeable how little the press want to pay attention to what smiths to blatant vote switching and tampering, in a blue state, towards a certain felon.
aciumaficionado.bsky.social
I really want them all to have K x-ray fluorescence exams. Non-invasive, but it will show whether they’ve been exposed to significant amounts of lead in their lifetime.

Might also explain their chronic limp dick.

I get (and share) your animus- but railways are a thing (were before the barons as well)- tested, proven, reliable technology and product.

The tech cycle right now exists purely in the realm of bullshit. The math doesn’t work, the economics don’t scale- it’s fiction.

There is the difference.
aciumaficionado.bsky.social
You miss the point- even with that leverage they had product- working railroads (and sure financial engineering), but at reasonably sensible multipliers.

We have mathematically impossible promises/threats of economically viable systems driving 100x+ valuations.

It’s entirely narrative driven.
aciumaficionado.bsky.social
The robber Barons at least had actual liquid wealth.

These guys have potential value, that they can borrow against. That leverage isn’t earned through better products, but by bullshitting more.
