Nope! But it's just me. At some point I switched to using just p. for single pages and ranges
Who keeps switching back and forth between "p." and "pp." for ranges of pages in MY footnotes. Pretty rude
Many years ago I downloaded an mp3 of She's All That by Big Sugar which someone must have recorded off the radio, because it ends with a phone ringing and Troy McClure saying "what the hell? Oh we got a call" (from Marge On The Lam). So now whenever I hear it without that part it sounds weird
It happened again when she wondered why October has 31 days. Get ready to hear about the development of the Roman calendar, aw yeah
Machine translation post-editing
In honor of spooky month, share a 4 word horror story that only someone in your profession would understand

I'll go first: Six page commercial lease.
I'm full of Moderna's finest covid antibodies
Ah, so much work has been done on the burgess assizes lately, it's great! My introduction to this edition doesn't need to be very long, everyone else's work can speak for itself

*accidentally writes 100 pages anyway*
I knew Drake's full name but I didn't know Kendrick's last name was also duck-related
You know how you get a popup saying data may be lost if you improperly unplug an external drive and you always think "sure, whatever" and unplug it anyway? I think I actually did lose a bunch of files this way?!
I'm in Canada where apparently only 6% of the population has A- in total, and presumably a much smaller number of donors
Apparently I actually have A negative??! All this time I thought I had the universal blood type! Oh well, this is still helpful...
Got that sweet sweet O neg
We're editing a letter for the kids in my wife's class to bring home and it said "we ask that it is...", so naturally I said this is one of the rare instances where we need to use the subjunctive "be"

...they don't know what I'm talking about. But I know they've seen it before! It's not dead yet!
holy shit Macho Man Trey Yesavage
I'm a Leafs fan, but I did draft Ivan Demidov
Once again it's the most exciting day of the year, fantasy hockey draft day!

Unfortunately not enough of last year's team wanted to play again so I had to join some random team
I got several more Chuck III coins. I'm not sure why I find this so fascinating (a weird old tradition...but different??)

I have a George V penny somewhere too
Finished the Beatles For Sale puzzle I got for my birthday. 1000 pieces, most of which seemed to be the white/yellowish background or the black coat pieces or their hair. The faces were a bit easier. Some pieces are only microscopically different so I put a bunch of them in the wrong spot at first
But it's a good opportunity to model normal adult behaviour for her by engaging in inane banter with the crossing guard. It's helpful to practise that sort of thing. I hate it too but neurotypical people might get offended if you don't do it! "Why?" she wonders. "I don't know bud, they're weird"
My daughter can walk to school and back home by herself, but she usually still wants me to come with her. I think it's mostly because there's an extremely chatty crossing guard along the way. It's too early in the morning to be that chatty! It's too much for any time of day!
We had that too but people actually brought their pets inside. I didn't see it but supposedly someone brought a horse to be blessed
