We marched with and for families today to protest the cuts to the ASGSF. It was a really well organised and moving event. The support fund is a lifeline for so many and cutting it does not make economic or moral sense. Thank you @asgsfprotest.bsky.social

The Potato Group is backing calls for the government to reverse the changes to the Adoption and Special Guardianship Support Fund. Please consider signing this petition, and joining us on May 3rd in London. #asgsf
Thank you to everyone who contacted their MPs and who shared their stories with us. It really did make a difference. You’re all amazing. We will be continuing our campaign to make the fund permanent and end this painful annual process so watch this space.
The government has just announced £50M in funding for the Adoption and Special Guardianship Support Fund for 2025/26. We are yet to hear details of how and when this will be allocated. Our campaign to secure the ASGSF on a permanent basis continues.
The inquiry will focus on three main topics: Education, Identity, and Health & Wellbeing, aiming to understand the support needs of adopted young people and improve existing systems.
The All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Adoption and Permanence has launched an inquiry focused on the voices of adopted young people aged 13 to 25, please complete or share here surveymonkey.com/r/adopteevoi...

Thanks @munirawilson.bsky.social for asking the Prime Minister if he will confirm the future of the Adoption and Special Guardianship Support Fund as thousands of families wait anxiously. We are disappointed by an answer that confuses rather than clarified @janetdaby.bsky.social
Very disappointing that the Prime Minister refused to confirm whether vulnerable children and their carers will continue to get the support they need through the Adoption & Special Guardianship Support Fund, which is due to end next week.

Children need to be able to carry on with their therapy! Families need to know what is happening!

As soon as possible just isn’t good enough at this point.

Thank you for for writing your piece Mahesha and allowing us to share it. A recommended read.
No, we have no news at all.
The group discussed the Children’s Wellbeing & Schools Bill, self employed adopters and the urgency of ASGSF funding.
Thanks to chair @RachaelMaskell @darrenpaffey Siobhan, Lord Russell, Lord Watson and Baroness Berridge as well as officers and representatives from the sector.
As joint secretariat with Home for Good to the APPG for Adoption and Permanence we were in parliament yesterday to see the group reconstituted.
