Good morning! Reading “Everything I Never Told You,” by Celeste Ng. 💙📚
I hold my eReader up to an open car window with my left hand. The reader takes up the bottom left corner of the image. It has a hippie style floral skin on it with some tiny dog stickers in the bottom corner that are line drawings. The screen, in greyscale, shows the cover of Celeste Ng’s “Everything I Never Told You.” The cover is made up of an image of a woman floating or swimming horizontally across the cover. She’s seen from above in dark water. The title and author are written in white, very scrawled writing. Behind and around the eReader is the view from my car. I have the same experience in terms of my reading pace not changing over time. I do read faster than speaking though and generally prefer the exercise of reading over that of listening. The exception being while I knit. I will listen while knitting and then resume reading it when my hands are free.

Beyond the reader stretches my lap and several overlapping patterns in warm tones. A quilt print blanket covers my lap, a bright orange, floral rug is on the floor, a lattice front wood cabinet is beyond that and, in blurry focus in the background, a TV screen with an image of a fireplace on it. The book on the reader is “Long Bright River” by Liz Moore. It’s in greyscale. The title and author are in bold, block letters on what looks like a windowpane streaked diagonally with rain. The white letters are streaked as though they also are runny with rain. Her book, “The God of the Woods” was excellent. It was long for a mystery of its kind but didn’t lag for a minute and was worth the very late night I spent reading it.

Had to pause the Chuck Tingle at half… hopefully not a DNF though because it was really good. It’s just a lot. Maybe one to read when feeling pretty happy, and even then maybe with mood stabilizers at the ready and a sun lamp. 😂
