Hi, I’m Andy, and I write pulpy adventure fiction, mostly sci-fi and fantasy. I was exposed to Middle Earth (the animated Hobbit TV movie), Conan (Marvel’s comics), Star Wars, and D&D all within a 3 year span in the late 70s, and I never recovered. I blame that for me becoming an author. #TBBChat

“Emirikol the Chaotic”, by David Trampier, is an iconic illustration from the #AD&D Dungeon Master’s Guide (1979). Did you know that the city street Emirikol is riding down is a real street? It is the Street of Knights in the city of Rhodes in Greece.

The box art for the classic Atari 2600 game Vanguard (one of my favorites) was painted by none other than Ralph McQuarrie. McQuarrie was the artist who did the concept art for the #StarWars movies, which defined the look of the most popular franchise in pop culture history.

I just finished The Black Gryphon, by M. Lackey and C. Dixon. Spoiler-free review: a pretty massage therapist and his clients discuss their feelings while they all desperately search for anything resembling a plot. Bleh.
