I don’t want half of the party to boycott our candidates and I don’t want every time we post a political message for it to turn into even your own side hates you kind of stuff. Just once I would like to see us united. There’s never been a better time to be united then against what is happening now.

If I could get us to march in unison just for a couple of elections in a row, I would die happy. I am so tired of my side, not having any lawmaking power. I’m so tired of always fucking losing.

The fighting among our own side absolutely destroys us every time

Unfortunately, instead of someone asking a question, it will just be another person on the political left who makes the first comment to a post like this attacking the original poster for supporting racism lol

It’s one of those things where like if I want to say what Madison’s intent was when he wrote the fourth amendment as part of the Bill of Rights I have to preface it by saying I’m not defending him as a person. Which makes it look like I’m appealing to the wisdom of a racist in my own argumentation

I guess the method of the acknowledgment is going to be the important part then so that we aren’t arguing against ourselves every time we try to make an important political point. The conservatives make their message with extreme boldness. And we put footnotes in ours.
alcibiades1234.bsky.social
I feel like this is one of the problems when people on the political left try to make any kind of political message as we step all over our own message because we also try to call ourselves problematic.
alcibiades1234.bsky.social
I guess what I mean is every time we post about a large group that does something good should we have to put a footnote on it and kind of water down our own message in the interest of making sure that we are not calling a racist a good person…
alcibiades1234.bsky.social
Once again, we are going to stomp all over a candidate who actually offers a departure from the moderate tactics that have made the party stagnant. And then we will wonder why we keep losing this motherfucking Senate race all the time.

If we allow every argument to be spoiled by people who are bad then we’re not allowed to make any arguments.
alcibiades1234.bsky.social
I understand the context that some of the soldiers were also racist, but I just don’t really see why that should mean that the argument is invalid.

Don’t you think it would be a better use of resources to get the nomination sewn up quickly so that he can take on the incumbent Republican?
alcibiades1234.bsky.social
I think this process in a situation where we are far too limited.
alcibiades1234.bsky.social
I would imagine this would even include survivors of the holocaust so we wouldn’t be allowed to talk about that either right?
alcibiades1234.bsky.social
Is it basically where if anyone associated with it was still problematic afterward we should not even try?
alcibiades1234.bsky.social
Basically what I’m saying is if there should be some kind of self restriction on posting anything historical in regard to the fight against it then what are we allowed to use as a rallying cry?
alcibiades1234.bsky.social
Do you think it’s OK to try and rally people by posting something that defends the concept of fighting fascism?

It’s amazing how all the reporting is just memory-holing this part
