Posters for Jim Gavin all over the place, 6 days after he withdrew from the #Áras25 race, and individual FF members saying they plan to vote for the FG candidate.

FF have made absolute chaos out of this election and are doing nothing to prevent inevitable confusion with the ballot on election day.

Here's the thing: HH is only running because Mairéad McGuinness withdrew her candidacy in August. She retired as a TD last year saying "I know going forward that I would not be able to give the job the time and commitment it deserves."

Does she plan to learn Irish if she doesn't win?

In 2014, Humphreys became the Arts, Heritage and Gaeltacht Minister, but faced criticism due to her lack of Irish.

So, let me get this straight...

Connolly was professionally obligated as a barrister to represent banks repossessing homes.

Humphreys, on the other hand, was a government minister who created the policies that made repossessions more likely.

Yet, Connolly is the one getting flak over this!

I'm honestly astounded (and probably shouldn't be) how far climate action has slipped down the government's list of priorities. No CAP published for 2025, a major slowdown in focus on Transport, and absolutely no meaningful progress on the country's biggest source of emissions: Agriculture

It is the duty of barristers to be independent and free from any influence, especially such as may arise from their personal interests or external pressure, in the discharge of their professional duties as barristers.

Barristers cannot discriminate in favour of or against any person availing, or seeking to avail, of the services of the barrister on the grounds of race, colour, sex, sexual orientation, language, politics, religion, nationality, national or social origin, national minority, birth or other status.

It is also the duty of barristers to accept instructions in any case in their area of practice. As a result, barristers should not be identified with their clients or their clients’ causes or suffer adverse consequences as a result of being so identified. This fundamental principle arises from the Code of Conduct of The Bar of Ireland and is recognised in the United Nations Basic Principles on the Role of Lawyers and in the Council of Europe Convention for the Protection of the Profession of Lawyer.

The duty of barristers to accept instructions, sometimes referred to as the “cab-rank rule”, ensures that everyone is entitled to access to justice and is central to trust in the Irish legal system and the rule of law.
