Starting November 1st, New Mexico will become the first state to offer free universal childcare to all its residents.

It's expected to save families over $12,000 per child annually.

This is a huge step forward — and a reminder that we have the power to fix the system.

My favorite I-Know-A-Gay Economy story: I had a case where a kid was charged with assault after a para at his HS goaded him into a physical attack. There was video evidence & witnesses but school still backed the para. Atty consult discovers both me and the parents are LGBTQ and says: /1

Someone commented the Bruce Willis dementia doc is "uplifting". Yeah... NO! There's nothing uplifting about living w someone suffering from rapid decline memory loss, unless you have financial privilege that allows 24/7 help so you can enjoy the fleeting lucid moments. #caregiving

Look at that: Police *can* use non-lethal force to defuse calls for service when an out-of-control person w a gun is involved. And shame on Baltimore County Council & Todd Crandell for covering this up. Alcoholism is no excuse for domestic violence.

The TV reporter was here for 1.5hrs today. I doubt she'll air anything I said that **I** thought was important to share about community fridges. i talked about how food shouldn't be politicized and yet our current administration is doing just that. I spoke about the enormous food waste that happens at all levels of American society. I spoke about starving children in Gaza and how Egyptians are creating their own food "rescues" by throwing plastic bottles filled with food into the Mediterranean Sea so that Palestinians can fish them out of the water to eat. | talked about the "good old days" of being able to work a minimum wage job and being able to buy a home and support a family and how that dream is gone because the minimum wage has never kept pace with inflation and how now a minimum wage job cannot even afford rent let alone groceries. | spoke about the large number of seniors who stop by our fridge because after decades of working FT, their social security doesn't allow for them to live with dignity and they cant afford to buy lettuce and eat a simple salad. Today was not a particularly good day for me, in terms of using a filter and speaking in a way that others want to hear. But, I spoke my truth and I have no regrets.

Not that I'm encouraging such subterfuge, but imagine if a bunch of antifa folx got hired by ICE - got their student loans forgiven - but somehow stood around stupidly and kept throwing proverbial sand in the cogs of "justice" so arrests weren't actually made.
