📣 It's publication day! 🔥Burning Swamps🔥 is out with @universitypress.cambridge.org ! My book tells the forgotten history of peat in the context of Russia’s industrialization & electrification and points to the lingering presence of past extraction 1/5

I had a fantastic time working with documents connected to the 1922 SRs trial and the LSI in @iisg-amsterdam.bsky.social last week. So many surprises!

The staff were all so helpful, and the space was lovely. I look forward to coming back soon 📚

Fascinating talks yesterday for the Modern & Contemporary Irish History seminar by @caitwhite.bsky.social and @lmcevoy.bsky.social on public commemoration in sculpture, and the legacies of post-war humanitarian hospitality. Left me with a lot of ideas. @historytcd.bsky.social

Great to visit snowy Newcastle for the first time at the weekend. As well, I got to present some of my research on Evgenii Korovin and early Soviet international law at the Study Group for Russian Revolution. An excellent collection of papers and contributions!
