They have current fuel and current ammo. However, just like everything else, when it gets harder to get fuel, ammo, or parts they slowly grind down.

I think you will see Russia make a pretty sizable retreat before winter truly sets in. They are too think spread now.

They have taken out a big part, especially in the region. It isn't a question of the amount needed being small overall, it is a question of getting it to the front lines.

My guess is the next couple of weeks will be painful for Russia.

You would think. But the problem is getting the fuel there, and having enough to keep going on if you get stuck or pinned down.

Russia has an overall shortage of diesel, especially as you get closer to Ukraine.

I think that Tanks don't run without fuel.

Russia's armour cupboard is pretty empty now. In the east, they are likely very exposed at this point. I think the protection towards other countries is very thin and fragile.

Reality is that Russia is extremely short of tanks, to the point that I feel if the US moved on Russia today from the east (alaska) side, they would meet little resistance for about the first half of the country. Russia is exposed as weak and shot of troops and weapons.

For me the problem here is that Musk is trying to solve a problem in his lifetime that won't be a problem for tens of thousands of years.
