British food embodies heritage. Food enjoyed by those who lived through the war (WW2 ended less than 100 years ago), is passed down through family cooking. Doesn't the US have similar dishes like that?

One time I was walking to Radcliffe, it started pouring it down, and I passed this old guy who randomly said to me "good thing we aren't nudists". It was so bizarre that I couldn't stop laughing 😂.
