I'll get around to making a proper card eventually:
- Best way to contact me for press purposes is Discord (DMs are open to anyone on my server, don't need to send a friend request)
- Second Best is Email (for now, find it on the YT channel)
- third best is DM's here.
With the current state of the world, I shall henceforth consider myself Schrödinger's-whelmed - for I am every variant of whelmed until observed.
I get the same thing with youtube sometimes... everyone thinks a social media following means "money" - without really understanding how the systems work.
I really have to wonder how many accounts on reddit are just bots using gen-ai at this point... the amount of replies that just seem to latch on to keywords and then spit out weird unrelated comments is ridiculous. (I mostly only use reddit to discuss games and help new creators)
All I wanted was a borger, I didn't need that shade thrown...
If I get replies that get mad in both directions (too negative AND too positive) -that's when I know I did my job - bonus points when I get replies that claim several hundred (or thousand) hours in a title isn't enough to judge it.
The reason there's discussion about this particular skull is because a certain individual has it tattood on them and claimed they didn't know what it means (even though all evidence points to them not only knowing what it means, but actively seeking it out)
Personally I've always found them disorienting - I prefer relative controls with a level of movement persistence (FFX is an example of this) - though if resources allow it, the best solution is almost always "put it in the options menu and let the player choose"
I really wish devs would stop putting crt filters on their games - or at least give me a way to toggle them off.
Yes, I will from henceforth be referring to them as "Techbruhs" - it is my sole ¿useful? contribution to 2025, take it or leave it.
Literally having the grown up version of this: Leftover Pizza and a Chocolate protein drink...
Waiting for the "why were your financial reports late?" - "ChatGPT was down" - situation to really drive home how ridiculous techbruhs are.
I swear some of you would try to backseat and wrongly explain the mechanics a game even if I made it from scratch myself lol
You likely engage with less than 1% of any given platform you're on, and never even see a hint of the majority of that remaining 99%.
I don't think most people realize just how isolated their internet experiences are - we may exist on seemingly monolithic platforms, but what you see is HEAVILY catered (not by a person, but by the actions of "people like you" and how they interact with the systems)
It is unfortunately something, due to my age, that I have to actively work at remaining conscious of - familiarity with an individual or org does not mean that they are 'mainstream' or even well known. Despite globally used platforms, the internet, and media, is heavily fragmented and insular.
Creators like Cohh have a place in the ecosphere, but there hasn't been a "mainstream" in the traditional sense for gaming or music coverage for at least 7 years now (and the cracks were forming when I started in the industry well over a decade ago). (2/2)
That's just not how gaming spaces work though - it's kind of like saying "A lot of mainstream music outlets don't carry CDs for (insert genre of music)" - The example I gave of Baradul, actually gets ~3-10x the number of views per video (and as such reach) than a Cohh video. (1/2)
Cohh would technically also be shifting into a genre/niche as well - that being Variety AAA/AA (something harder to crack into for smaller creators), you have people like RCE being incremental/X-Simulator niche, you have wanderbots roguelite/indie, etc.
most games don't get big consistent coverage (cohh isn't even big consistent coverage of them - he's variety coverage) - games, like music, have moved much more into the space of genre/niche creators for genre specific coverage. For example Battletech would be creators like Baradul.
can I just make fun of both? ;)
Internet, you and I topped this pizza together ;)
It's just code for "We don't mind harvesting data of people, we mind when other people harvest data of people."
The only tool I'm seeing on that stage is Glen lol - I want games made by people who love games, not by some digital hallucination strapped to some accountant's attempts to maximize revenue streams through a multi-level monetization system
I do have to wonder what filling my inbox up with this kind of stuff accomplishes, other than making me laugh a little... (I swear, I get these more on my gaming channel emails than my non-gaming channel emails)
Take water and food, make sure someone you trust knows where you'll be and when you'll be back.

Pockets are your friends (backpacks and satchels are easy to grab if you need to run) - If in a higher risk area, go with a group if possible - at least one person should have medical supplies.
