How much worse can they get?

More 'fear, greed and self-interest'. It's so obvious and yet the impunity is mind-blowing. They're just going to go ahead with business-as-usual anyway.

I'm signing up for your Critical Thinking unit. There is a lot to unpack in this question.

This is a terrific interview with the pianist, Hiromi. I got so emotional, such joy listening to her play at the end. How she gets to the piece she improvises on is wonderful. Hiromi shares such an intimate knowledge and understanding of some of the greats of jazz piano.

Me thinks this man is merely an opportunist dressed up as a liberal, a fabrication. I can’t even call him a disappointment anymore. Not since I realised it was all spin and sham from the get go. But he did manage to fool a great deal of us, trumped up hope and all, a mastery of sinister proportions.

But which flag? There are so many to choose from. I've noticed bogans transition to Birkenstocks and Crocs out my way. Choice!

Does this mean I can fly a flag out the front of my place?

KNOW ME - a semi-finalist in this years Australia Independent Film Festival. Missed out on a screening, but at the very least it was acknowledged alongside many impressive films.

Gut wrenching evil! This is not the work of a brother or sister. There is no love here for whom they believe their kin.

I am hearing much the same around the dinner table, and more recently at the pub and had hoped this would be the extent of it, but clearly not. People are taking genAI way too seriously. It is depressing to witness such rapid acquiescence to it.

... and disappoint, to put it mildly, the rest! This is not leadership, it is hiding under the covers until someone else steps up, takes what blows may come, but doing what's responsible, urgent and absolutely necessary. The politics of appeasement is a dead end street for us all.

"My message to the world is simple:
if we are left to burn in this hell alone,
then humanity itself has already died.
This world is no longer human.
And the silence that allowed all of this
will haunt you forever."

“Marx thought technology ought to serve social & human needs. Today, we have the formula exactly backwards – society serves tech..it’s not the complex problems of the future that are the most intractable. It’s the age-old conundrums of money, class and power”

Hanna Ylitepsa reminds me of Damo Suzuki in terms of their approach. A striking addition to my morning listening out here in the Australian bush. Good on you, Bill.
