Not happy with the blazing BBC weather persons. “Sunny intervals” they said. It’s been about -5C and I’ve not seen a sunny interval all fecking day! Just that little tent of blue above Manchester Cathedral. Ah, well! The sun shines on the righteous, I guess.

Even the sky is showing its support. 🇺🇦

The sun shining brightly underneath the clouds as it goes down. The sky is several shades of blue and yellow, making it resemble the Ukrainian flag.

I have to confess I was thrilled to find this place. Don’t judge me. As with all outdoor activities there are risks involved. Good equipment and plenty of experience helps to mitigate these risks. #becarefuloutthere❤️ #eryri #gwynedd #parccenedlaetholeryri #cymru #snowdonia #wales

Cairngorm Mountains. Linn of Dee to Derry Lodge where we pitched camp by Luibeg Burn. Took the path via Craig Bad an t-Seabhaig to Derry Cairngorm (1155m). From Loch Etchachan a steep climb of 400m led to the Barns of Beinn Mheadhoin then to the granite tors atop Beinn Mheadhoin (1182m)

An underrated mountain. Challenging, as I recall.

The Middlewood Way is a lovely 10-mile (16 km) shared-use trail in northwest England, stretching from Rose Hill, Marple to Macclesfield. It traces the old Macclesfield, Bollington & Marple Railway (1869–1970) and was converted into a greenway in 1985

Friday evening bike ride to Adlington then along the Middlewood Way to High Lane. Return via Woodford, Wilmslow and Styal, 35km.

The Middlewood Way is a 10‑mile greenway in Greater Manchester and Cheshire. It follows the former Macclesfield, Bollington & Marple Railway, which closed in 1970.

Good point subtly made Alice. In truth the Calderdale moors are a wasteland, given over to the slash and burn tactics of the driven grouse shooting industry 200 years ago.

Such a beautiful evening I went for a bit of a bike ride. Discovered a sneaky path across the old Woodford Aérodrome and got a close up look at this beautiful piece of kit.
