I'm a tech that's interested in 8 and 16 bit retro and neo-retro computers ๐Ÿ–ฅ๏ธ and retro-gaming ๐ŸŽฎ. I dabble in electronics. I program in Java , C/C++ and Z80 and 6502 assembly. I love dogs ๐Ÿ• I'm interested in world news and US politics.

Oh, you should do! It's a really interesting side hobby for techs. With your electronic skills you'd be brilliant at the hardware side of things.
Honestly, I don't think they did. It would be too complex to get away with it. I think when Musk said he thought it was over on the night before it had been called he was looking at the prediction markets.
Are you licensed?

If so I've just had 80m long wite my antenna out back up, I've not pulled a cable through to my office to connect it yet, but when I do we should try and see if we can reach each other!

Should be able to via WSPR at the least.
I knew nothing about Linux, I just knew it was "Unix" and I could make it kinda look like the SGI's IRIX if I put KDE1 on it.

Slackware was the best tutor I had. I had to learn how to setup networking, X86Config, Sendmail and later Postfix, so I knew exactly how systems worked.

Look what the nice folks at the PRGE Intellivision booth gave me! Thanks Mark!
My first experience with Linux was with Slackware 96 that came in the back of a MIS Press Linux Programming book.

After that I ordered every Walnut Creek CD I could afford. I had all the Slackware ones and a load of FreeBSD, OpenBSD and NetBSD ones too.

I can remember throwing them out :-(
I MANAGED TO SOURCE MY FIRST LINUX DISTRO!!!

I've been looking for this for so long! I'm going to be installing it on my 486DX4-100 retro build

I'm trying to build a full set of these, so if you have any other versions you want to part with please let me know!

How was such a stupid, dumb man elected to one of the most important positions in the world?

This is such a multi-generational stain on the reputation of the USA.
I've got a new amateur radio license call sign! I'm no longer 2E0MLL, instead I'm:

M8MLL

I've changed as part of the Ofcom recommendation to 2*0 license holders.

I lose my M6CLL call sign as part of this. I should really sit my full license but I don't have the time to study for it right now.
I wouldn't say they're so bad...

I keep trying to tell people about #FujiNet.
That it is a WiFi adapter for your favorite #Atari8bit, #Apple2, #ColecoAdam, #TRS80CoCo, #Commodore, #Atari2600, #AtariLynx, and #MSDOS machines, with more to come.

But word isn't getting out.

Can u help?

The code for this example is in my Agon Light 2 development repo where I keep some stand along examples to refer to and for newbies to try and look at concepts in isolation.

This specific example is here:

In attempt to finish my Pac-Man clone I've been researching sprite collision and bounding in #Z80 #assembly on the #AgonLight2 and I've finally managed to get it working.

I can now move this code into the main game and maybe start looking at getting some actual game play working ๐Ÿ˜€

Oh gosh, I forgot about him...
What about Boring Professionals, the ones that dig tunnels?
Okay, come on... THIS is funny ๐Ÿ˜‚

Righto, finished off all the graphics primitives and clipping, for now. Still using 8-way symmetry for the circles, not the 4-way symmetry mentioned yesterday in a different thread. There's always room for improvement yet I'm happy with it as it stands. Next, need to Z-sort the objects in the scene.

As sad as this movie is, I absolutely love the both the movie and book. The bleakness of survival and clinging to humanity, with the innocence and future of the son seem to offer hope.

If you've not read the book I really recommend reading it first then watch the film.
I'd like to share one of my favorite movies!

๐ŸŽฌ The Road (2009)
๐ŸŽฅ Director: John Hillcoat

Plot: In a dangerous post-apocalyptic world, an ailing father defends his son as they slowly travel to the sea.

Over the weekend I got my Hayes Optima 28.8k modem's motherboard swapped out with a WiFi Retromodem from Tindie.

The board simulates a proper dial up connection, and all the LED's match up perfectly too. It's such a tidy setup.

Next up is getting FidoNet and QWK working.

I just put out a very specialized tutorial for changing FPGA core on the F256K2 that will serve a specific tranche of the population, but I won't mind if you're curious to check out how easy it is to make this retro computer act differently at the flip of some dip switches

Mostly for two reasons. 1) They'll make life better for rich people who own the media and 2) It makes the media jobs easier because Reform, like most right wing Governments, are completely inept, making the presses job easier, as the stories write themselves.
