Uncle Mike Bowen the priest was a good man and one of her family members not colored by her Mom or by trying to use her to attain godhood.

His loss had cut her to the bone making the then blind dark unbearable. He had helped her, encouraged her and gotten her in touch with teachers who helped

She let him get the clothes knowing the bag was likely webbed up someplace and she was a master of the quick-change so could just make herself super bright so anyone looking couldn't get any eyefulls of the good or pictures.
