Once upon a time, I wrote a policy about race, ethnicity, and national origin for a global social media company. I’ll always remember that the US recognizes exactly 2 ethnicities (Hispanic & non-Hispanic) and realizing how using American binary constructs doesn’t work for the majority of the planet.
