like this confuses me. depop resellers are raising the prices in thrift stores bc they keep bulk buying just to resell them at much higher prices. this is an actual issue its not even about "trendy clothing", and regardless of the style of clothing, people have the right to be able to afford them

menswear guy replies "Not "nice" clothing. Trendy clothing. Depop resellers raid used markets for trendy clothes, which they use to turn a profit online. Who cares? Don't buy trendy clothes. The whole trend system is a sham anyway. As soon as something reaches mass adoption, the thing is no longer cool. The idea that there can be a "human right" to trendy clothes misunderstands the dynamic of trends in the first place. As soon as everyone adopts something, those items are considered uncool. The idea of trends is exclusionary by design.

No one has the right to look cool. They may have a right to housing, food, and medical care. Perhaps even clothing, but not necessarily clothes that happen to be going viral online.

Making a big stink about Depop sellers hiking prices on trendy clothes seems absurd to me. The most first world of first world problems."

actually exhausted of people not being able to recognize that clothes are absolutely a human right. obviously not only for its functionality, but also for the right to self express as an individual. dumbing it all down to "cute outfits" to minimize the importance pisses me off so much
