Health and dental insurance for our family (3 kids) is more than our mortgage. Our youngest recently aged into Kinder so finally out of the childcare suck. Childcare (daycare, afterschool care, summer care) must easily be the highest cost in having children. Summer care is ~$400/week per kid. Insane

Be fluid in how you talk/write to align with the audiences you're trying to reach. This shouldn't be a hot take. I use different words when talking with my child vs writing in a formal report for work.

We don't officially register by party here in TX. I believe those percentages are from the open primary ballots. But, yes, more voters requested Democratic ballots in the last primary and, yes, I think TX would be blue if we were not gerrymandered to hell and back.
