I can believe it. Too many guys feel they have something to prove. I guess the potential status gain for beating up a big unit like your friend is greater than that gained beating up a smaller guy.

Thanks I thought I'd be silly in response to the silliness of the guys post. I think back to times friends of mine got beaten up, typically on nights out, it was always by groups of guys. I know there is sometimes female -> male domestic violence, but the post seems about stranger violence and ...

This is shocking.. at first I thought he was doing a devil's advocate type thing, putting up a bigoted position for them to challenge and dismantle...but then he's like "right ... So that's what I believe, anyway let's get on with other things" 😳 he should not be allowed to educate anyone

Certainly as a 42 y/o man of reasonable proportions (6'0", 92kg - not small, not huge) I've only ever felt under physical threat when walking past pubs late at night and there's drunk groups of young women* outside saying shit to passers by perhaps in the hopes of getting a spurious reason to fight

I can totally understand it, but I'd have to vote mince pies. I must have some Christmas pudding on the day, boxing day too if I can, but mince pies are a season-long thing, from mid-November to new year I'm eating mince pies. Pudding can't compete with that volume.

Whether AI will ultimately prove useful I have no idea. Still seems a bit shit to me. But I do know that to me it's not worth risking anyone's safety for, let alone everyone's safety.

It feels out of control... Like they're building survival bunkers for themselves while they continue the business that's wrecking our environment, or pushing ahead with that AGI which apparently scares them enough they want survival bunkers.. but none of us get a say in it when it's our safety too?
