If the argument is they are solidly a playoff team then I agree. I don't think they are about to collapse based on the poor overall numbers. But they do need to improve and they were bad at it. What did Matthews/Tanev/McCabe play together? 30ish games? Can't swing from solid to terrible on that.

it is but they still had Tanev for 10/15 in March overall and McCabe + Matthews for all 15. They were 29th in 5v5 corsi and 25th in 5v5 xGF. You can't expect to be much healthier than that overall and they should be way better than that.

whatever it was the ice was clearly tilted to their end - to a bad degree - the second half of the season. The first bit before Matthews started missing time they were good, but after that they weren't. That shouldn't be up for debate.

started well for sure, but didn't end that way. In March they were about as healthy as you can be and they were 29th that month in 5v5 corsi. Not going to count April because they generally mailed it in, like most teams did.
