I’m a huge believer in Boundaries…. And absence if my boundaries are constantly crossed.

Sounds like she has a lot of her own personal insecurities in her ego and projects that as a form of superiority

It’s pretty common but can be devastating to those surrounding that person .

They also lack the introspection to see it .

Not that you gave it. But that she took it and either walked over boundaries or didn’t have the normal ones.
If she’s used to having a say… then I’d set some boundaries politely but firmly and crossing them will have consequences

Set them clearly and outline the consequences

Lots of trauma here to and as individuals we reacted differently- I got therapy she never did

But … as I matured I came to peace with the the fact she will never change. I but my lip for years. I don’t want flaming arguments and bite my tongue often but I also realize she will never change and operate for my personal peace

They are complicated.
She says “you’re the most like dad” didn’t say it as a compliment- but I took it as one as neither he nor I put up with her manipulations….
I also don’t like to be “led” so she avoids taking me on head to head - it’s a looser for her.

Yes - me and mine are as well …..
we co-exist in other family members homes on holidays and family events when we have to … but avoid her like a plague .
