this far in, I've already seen whose support is sincere and whose is performative.
maybe you're afraid of inconveniencing other people? don't be. they don't bother much while aligning themselves with known zios so why should you worry about their peace of mind?
don't be shy to repost both the original thread & this one! I'm afraid likes don't do anything anymore if you don't also spread the info & let people know you don't condone that kind of behavior. I'm sorry if it's rude but I'm not your moral checkpoint.
so that really should tell you something about priorities.

anyway, the rotten part of the dhr fandom brought me back to life, so you have them to thank for suffering through my disjointed thoughts here 👋
and I'm sorry, you can shout all you want about your stance (some of y'alls indignation at being called out is really cute), but if it's for the first time in the last 1.5 years, then it's worth shit.

I mean, I saw more posts about TF being gifted a manacled copy than reposts of Moonlight's thread
if you can't call someone from the internet out for being a genocidal maniac, I sincerely doubt you can do the same with a family member or a friend, or a colleague. it's just how it is.
so imagine how many of us are there. how many of us are hurt by your refusal to stand beside us and demand we be treated as human beings, by your hesitation to call out racism and islamophobia, by your inability to grow a spine and stand up for what's right.
as a Muslim woman, I was taught from young age to never flaunt that part of my identity around, both irl and, later, online. it's not safe, it's never safe. many of us are taught the same: be quiet, don't stand out, don't attract attention. often, it bleeds into our fandom lives too.
with discrimination their whole life. you don't get a word in this.

have you ever wondered how many POCs or Muslims are in this fandom? how many of them have to hide parts of their identities in order to 'fit' into your extremely narrow-minded perception of who should be in fandom?
as Moonlight has said multiple times, it has to do with the fact that it's people of color and Muslim people are targeted. it's fucking true, without a shadow of a doubt. you don't even get to argue with this point and if you do, you better shut the fuck up and listen to people who've had to deal
your art or fics won't do the job for you—as we've seen happen with ML for fuck's sake, what another example do you want??!
likes and interactions, you owe it to people to be clear about your stance. especially on matters like these. I'm sorry but I don't know y'all irl. I don't want to wonder about whether or not you're pro killing kids or trans people, you HAVE TO MAKE YOUR STANCE CLEAR!!!!!
your hesitation to call out people fucking ONLINE means you would rather die than say anything in REAL LIFE TOO! I'm sick of the fucking mentality when you don't owe people anything. you do, actually. you really fucking do. if you want to exist in a community, if you wait around for more followers,
but no one gave us the right to criticize these people, right? no one left us in charge of who gets to be in fandom and who doesn't, right? RIGHT?????

the pure lack of empathy in you people would make even satan pause. this mentality is what allows genocides like this happen in the first place.
hi hello (not) sorry to be a party pooper but this is exactly what happens when people start saying that we should just let people in the fandom be, even if we don't agree with their 'politics'. politics, as in agreeing and actively propagating the murder of kids and bombing of innocent people
“These is no safety in a non-political space because it does not accommodate me. There is no safety in a non political space because it violates me, ignores me, takes comfort in dehumanizing me..” - Celine on TikTok

I’ve been thinking so hard whether I want to address this or not,

“To be an Arab Muslim Woman is to be by all means a political person. I am by all means a political person, because I dream in a language that is not mine. How do I climb the hill of decolonization when its talons grip tightly my mind?

How many of you have posted about the kidnapping and disappearing of pro Palestinian activists of color, most of them Muslim, in your precious US?? Or do you share the belief that they’re terr0rists for speaking up about the genocide?

Crying antisemitism when there are crimes committed against Palestinians, Muslims and Arabs every single day and no one bats an eye?

They were DENYING THE GENOCIDE ON THAT SERVER AND NO ONE SAID A THING EXCEPT 3 PEOPLE OUT OF ALMOST 4K.. but yes, let’s talk about antisemitism.

Shouldn’t have surprised me, especially after last week’s incident on that Discord server, where ML and that other person went on about antisemitism and calling the Muslim students being kidnapped TERRORISTS and not one person said a word about how racist and Islamophobic that is?
