'Fang', the snaggletoothed tuxedo cat, is at home with a couple of loyal, yet untrustworthy friends (or fiends?): a crow and a rat. The full moon shines through the gothic window. This particular full moon, however, is a giant grinning pumpkin! It's all quite eerie, yet in a sinisterly gleeful way, suitable for year-round viewing. Drawn in black India ink with predominantly blue and orange watercolor washes. Here we have a curious, and somewhat trepidatious cat in a dark and unnerving, derelict garden. She has somehow felt 'watched'. As she walks between two huge topiaries, she is indeed being observed! A black and white drawing. Here we have four mysterious, furtive and highly suspicious-looking black cats with glowing eyes, sitting together on a park bench, late at night, under the light from a lamppost. Are they plotting something nefarious - or just mischievous? Or, has the deed already been done? Or do they just look guilty? This is an exercise in atmospheric light and shadow and strong contrasts. A black & white drawing.

Yearning for Adventure “The Yearning for Adventure” Available as both an original ink drawing and as a giclée art print. Hark! What was that?! Our feline friend has heard mysterious noises emanating from out in the garden. Were the sounds an ‘it’ or a ‘them’? She thinks she sees shadowy shapes dart across the lawn and slither through the shrubbery. The poor cat is trapped indoors. All she wants is to leap through that window into a moonlit landscape of wild curiosity filled with unknown and unseen excitements - and perhaps an exploit or two of good old mischief.

“A Wary Friendship” Available as both an original ink drawing and as a giclée art print. It is nighttime and deep within the grounds of an old mansion. Under the lamplight, in the foreground, sits a cat, seated atop her favourite bench. From there she can survey her realm and listen to the sounds of the night. For several days a small bird has taken an interest in the cat, sneaking unseen a little closer to her each night. The bird had trouble sleeping and was lonesome. One night the bird finally stirs the courage to show himself and the cat is surprised, to say the least. Impressed by the bird’s temerity, and against all instinct, the cat feels an instant fondness for him. Is this the beginning of a beautiful friendship?

“Within a Galaxy of Leaves” Available as an original ink drawing and as a giclée art print. In a clearing, a noble white cat sits mesmerized by the open volume at her feet. Is it a favourite book revisited or something new? She reads by the generous light of the crescent moon which has kindly lowered itself from the night sky to provide illumination. The scene is framed by swaying grasses in the foreground and a mysterious white column. Behind her is a curtain of flowing, swirling leaves forming constellations of churning galaxies a la Van Gogh. Below the leaves, in the background, a shadowy figure lurks. Is all this actually happening or is it the dreamlike imaginings of the cat as she reads her book?
