The truth is, 99.9% of the time, it's never "I can't do this/can't be that good" it's actually "I won't do this"/"I don't want put in the effort to do X-thing".

Which is fine generally speaking. Everyone has different preferences in what they want to achieve.

I feel like that term is used way too much by folks who either:
A) Don't understand it's just a skill that is trained on diligently over time.

B) Don't have self confidence in that skill when they do it. And so seeing someone else do something impressive is like "I could never do that myself".

Nah fr I feel this way as well.

I don't mean to sound rude to folks who say that when describing someone they're impressed by. It is somewhat understandable on the surface. But I think there needs to be a better conversation around this.

Idk why so many folks want to leverage AI so badly when honestly, it shouldn't have a place in schools at all.

Tbh most of my favorite webcomics (and the ones I think have some of the best storytelling that comics have to offer) are usually not the super popular ones. Usually they’re a bit more niche and not as widely known.

(Don’t get me wrong, there are some really good popular webcomics too of course!)

The homogenisation and consolidation of buisinesses and brands has led to the erosion of the midlist, the indie movie or band or comic. There's a real sense of "I'll only try media that's already popular / famous," and I'm begging you to look for the weird shit, the experimental, the niche.
