My brain views writing as a refuge and hides in daydreams while I'm at work, so when I get home and there's nothing to run from, I go blank. A trick that sometimes helps is saying, "when I get home, I'm going to the gym." Then my brain protests - in the form of writing motivation. :P

Also, MAJOR props to the Portland protesters - not only for originating the Amphifa Frog, but for the brilliant use of Exodus 8:2 on protest signs: "If you refuse to let them go, I will send a plague of frogs on your whole country."

Some of my favourite signs from Seattle No Kings: "Not being paid, I hate Trump for free"; "Trump is a faux-king joke"; "Chinga tu MAGA"; "All of my outrage won't fit on one sign." Kudos also to the "LICE" in bug costumes, and the brass band who faded "Hail to the Chief" into "The Imperial March."

I wish you could have a nice relaxing bath here:
