This is a very start of a list of queer scholars working in and/or on Germany. Honestly started this for selfish reasons to get to know ppl, but thoughts this could also help others.

Let me know who I forgot, and/or of you wanna be added!

It should be remembered the ADL supported the execution of the Rosenbergs and the deportation of left-wing Holocaust refugees to Poland during the second red scare. I presume this was also done in the name of “Jewish safety.”

A dear feminist science studies mentor passed on March 5. Have a good journey Sandra Harding. ❤️

Harding was UCLA Distinguished Professor Emerita of Education and Gender Studies, former Director of the Center for the Study of Women.

Link is an oral history interview with Sandra on her career.

Do not blame Musk for this political outcome in Germany. His endorsement only reveals the interconnected networks of fascists. In fact, we should consider how Germany's turn further right is connected to its racist historical past and present.

But what do I know?

Thank you for that! As always, so many people forget how much both the violent close and distant past informs politics in Germany

A coalition between CDU and AFD is an extreme, undesired event even for CDU voters. 81% of CDU voters, above the overall 70% of voters, are opposed to seeing the AFD take any form of state power. It is important to remember that.

She was SO good. and the generation of black scifi authors she inspired are amazing as well, redefining both the genre but also the (un)limits of imagination.

I can imagine! No spoiler - it does have its complex moments of optimism. Maybe it's something to be inspired by in this moment...

Excited to share the first interview I conducted for the @newbooksnetwork.bsky.social. Niehuus' beautifully written book is very timely due to events in eastern #Congo right now. Essential to read about the ways Congolese imagine an otherwise to their present.

Because of that, it's extremely important to read about the ways Congolese imagine, in a myriad of ways, an otherwise to their future and present.

Niehuus' book is one of the most complex and beautifully written ethnographies I honestly ever read, and I think it's especially timely considering the fact that mass fleeing, displacement and violence in eastern Congo are intensifying these past few days.

My new year's wish: gods, grant me the serenity to accept the German tenses I can never actually learn, the courage to master the grammatical genders of this convoluted language, and the wisdom to know the difference 🙏

And also, end the genocide in #gaza
