My namesake is my grandfather Vincenzo Francesco Giuseppe [insert super-Italian Surname], but everyone called him Frank when he came to Detroit from the old country in the 1930's.

I am forever doomed to have the boring version of a really cool name.

Formerly the town of Norris, currently the neighborhood of Grant.

Then & 2023 when I first learned about P. Norris; founder of Norris and superintendent of Yellowstone Natl Park.

God forbid we tax this house inefficiently. I'm sure the realtors are happy to tell people that it's a couple decades younger than it really is.

I've never seen a symmetrical double porch that doesn't connect like that!

Idk if it's quite as old as 1870, though... Having trouble finding a Wayne County property map newer than 1915. I'm curious if the Stubbes moved out, and a new owner demolished their house and rebuilt on their old plot.

Stubbe Family House (b.~1870's-1920?)
Taylor, Wayne County Michigan

Three generations of Stubbes lived here from 1870-1915. Public data says this house was built 1920 but I doubt that.

Blake's Orchard and Cider Mill is based out of Armada, Michigan; but they also have locations in Almont and South Lyon.

This seasonal hard cider is pretty good. There isn't any donut in its flavor but there's plenty of cinnamon!

It's like an Italian Villa porch on a plain square farmhouse. I think I've seen some Craftsmans with porches like this, but they still aren't quite as old.
