The only cause of severe attachment pathology (a child rejecting a parent) is child abuse by one parent or the other.

In ALL cases of court-involved custody conflict involving a child rejecting a parent, a risk assessment for child abuse is needed to the differential diagnoses for each parent.

The Dark Triad personality is 1) narcissistic, 2) psychopathic, and 3) highly manipulative. Add sadism to get the Dark Tetrad.

The Vulnerable Dark Triad is 1) vulnerable narcissism, psychopathic manipulation, borderline pathology.

The Dark Triad & Dark Tetrad have been called the core of evil.

The pathology of concern in the family courts is the psychological collapse of a narcissistic-borderline-dark personality into persecutory delusions surrounding the divorce (rejection & abandonment fears).

The pathological parent then uses the child as a weapon of spousal abuse & revenge.

I attended the 16-hr AFCC training on Parent-Child Contact Problems - no such pathology exists. They presented a Vignette which they repeatedly used.

I completed the 16-hr AFCC training on Advanced Issues in Family Law: Parent Child Contact Problems.

I believe there may have been an ethical violation by a group of psychologists of Standards 2.04 Bases for Scientific and Professional Judgements and 2.01 Boundaries of Competence.

If a psychologist BELIEVES a shared delusion, they become PART of the shared delusion, they become PART of the pathology.

When that pathology is child abuse, they become PART of the child abuse. When that pathology is spousal abuse of the targeted parent, they become PART of the spousal abuse.

Do NOT apologize to a persecutory delusion. That will ONLY entrench the delusion and the apology will be used against you.

Diagnosis guides treatment. First get an accurate diagnosis, then develop a treatment plan for that diagnosis. Do NOT apologize to a persecutory delusion - that is NOT the tx.

All mental health professionals have a duty to protect.

The pathology in the family courts is the psychological abuse of the child - and the spousal abuse of the targeted parent using the child as the spousal abuse weapon.

There are 2 duties to protect - there are 2 victims of abuse.

Forensic custody evaluations rely on constructs of "dubious validity" that generate "defective reports" with "potentially disastrous consequences for parents and children" in the family courts.

Forensic custody evaluations need to be entirely eliminated from the family courts.

There is no defined pathology in clinical psychology called "parental alienation" - this is a euphemism for child abuse of a made-up pathology label that HIDES the child abuse from view, HIDES the child abuse from the Court's understanding, and PREVENTS effective treatment for the child abuse.

No: any forensic psychologist willing to defend what they do. If they refuse to defend what they do, forensic custody evaluations should be eliminated as a failed experiment.

There are 2 parent-litigants. BOTH litigants have the right to have their concerns properly considered and properly evaluated. In ALL cases of court-involved custody conflict, a proper risk assessment for child abuse is needed to the appropriate differential diagnoses for each parent.
