I just don't understand the desire to use the antichrist as a metaphor in this way when you're going to detach it from any biblical analysis at all and talk about comics and manga.

You're fortunate I didn't see this before the wedding. I might have pushed you off the ski lift.

Yeah, I am absolutely not a suit guy. Maybe once a year. Thank you!

Man at this hotel came up to me and said I looked like Aaron May from “Grocery Games.” His wife then jumped in immediately with, “But much thinner!” So there’s that.

Certain celebrity deaths are harder to process than others because the person in question was so full of life and creativity and originality that you just assume it's never going to end.

I'm much more sympathetic to people saying "it's the phones" or "it's algorithmic social media" than saying it's about the built environment, even though I think the built environment is important.

I mean it's genuinely not hard to find some nice-looking but deeply red small towns in Georgia and Tennessee to use for these pictures instead, but they're so lazy they just use stock photos.

So a child who died at five in the 1850s would be better off than a secular person or liberal Christian who lived to 85 in 2020. 2/2

But for Wilson, he is only thinking in terms of whether or not you would be a believing Christian (and a believing Christian only in the terms of his particular fundamentalist beliefs). 1/

Haha. Of course, my bad. I meant if there were any you could see flipping in 2026 or beyond.

Are there any state legislative districts that you think good Democrats could win?

This is where I will say that I think it's less about a lack of third spaces and more about phones and the social dynamics that have become common due to social media.

I couldn't see your posts in that thread for some reason. Could you link me to your first reply?

not something I expected (and indeed it was not legal in most states) when I was 18. The progress we've made is real and deserves to be celebrated and protected. 2/2

Just realizing it's National Coming Out Day! Came out at 18. Got married to my husband in 2018. Currently in Minneapolis to see a good friend marry his soon-to-be husband, officiated by another gay friend I saw marry his husband two years ago. Whether you're the marrying type or not, this was 1/

My thoughts are nuanced. I do think there is a lack of third spaces, but that lack is exaggerated by some. I also don't think third spaces should be upheld as some sort of cure-all for making a more cohesive, civically involved society.

Midcentury civic institutions in the U.S. also existed in an era of strong car dependence. I think third spaces are great, but the lack of them isn’t the cause of our problems.

Look with all due respect Trump is very unpopular and most Americans do not approve of pretty much anything he’s doing. Our political and media institutions are pathetic, filled with cowards looking for a boot to crawl under, but even despite pressure to comply Americans broadly do not condone this
