Well, the wife is pretty happy I ordered in one of her favorites! #MariyaTakeuchi’s Variety is a top #JPop album, released in 1984 and a staple of her Karaoke repertoire. Most songs, including Plastic Love, are familiar to me too. This is the 2021 reissue.

A grail find back in January joined the #Sansui collection earlier this week. #SansuiAU777a is just a beauty. Not bad for 55-ish years old. #TeruSakamoto’s piano is bright and sweet.

The Godfather of Japanese bass players and one of the starts of #JapaneseJazz is surely #IsaoSuzuki. Here he is with one of his best albums, the Brazilian influenced Black Orpheus on #ThreeBlindMiceRecords.

Added to the #JapaneseJazz collection with #SunaoWada’s Coco’s Blues. This has a mystery on the front which translates as“To Ikeda-san in the same apartment” and then a name.

If it’s someone involved with the album, it’s likely cutting engineer Makoto Nakamura. Who knows!?

All killer, no filler. The recent reissue of #MilesDavis’ KOB sextet “practice session” (same group, several months earlier) is a beauty. Originally released in Japan as 1958 Miles, the name changes to #BirthOfTheBlue. Nice job, #AnalogueProductions!
