I'm not here to get followers, and I don't automatically follow back. I am the curator of my feed. If you want a follow back, say something interesting.

I will never follow back anyone with no posts, men looking for "friends" or accounts that look like solicitations of any kind.
This is day 9 of my 11 day solo trip, and I'm a little lonely. As a super extrovert, it's hard being alone for so long and not sharing some special moments. Today I'm at the Eiffel Tower, and there will never be a time when I'm not awestruck by its beauty. #paris #eiffeltower
Since it's #Halloween I thought I'd share some pictures from the Catacombs I took this week. This is a must see attraction for anyone interested in history and the macabre.
Off on my next adventure! I left my heart in #Paris on my last trip, so in a way, I'm going home.
From the program, "At its center is a simple but profound question - what compels us to rise up?" This play holds up a mirror to our country, highlighting the generational persistence of racism & violence always countered by hope. #Resist

I saw an incredible new musical last night - Revolution(s). Book by Zayd Ayers Dohrn, music & lyrics by the great @tommorelloofficial.bsky.social The last time I felt this way leaving a musical, it was RENT in 1997. I sobbed through the whole second half. If you're in #Chicago, see it. Link below.
I discovered I don't actually know how to write a book, and being a pantser doesn't work for me. Also, sometimes the story you set out to write might not be the story you end up telling. Listen to the characters and they will lead you where you really need to go. And hand writing a book is ok.

PORTLAND — Robby Roadsteamer grabbed by ICE for singing… 🎵
The father of my former coworker and friend was taken by ICE and transferred to a facility in Louisiana. They're trying to get him back. If you can donate to their fund to support legal services, that would be great. If not, that's ok. I'm just trying to spread the word. gofund.me/c84b61fce #ICE

They made everyone watch the Challenger shuttle take off live in class. We all watched it blow up together. Collective trauma. I'm a little older, but I also don't remember Chernobyl.
I would agree with yours, but I could also include the death of Ryan White from AIDS and the Rodney King riots, though those were technically high school for me. Honestly, now that really is childhood, isn't it?
I'm so in love with Portland right now. I live in Chicago, and it's great to see the many forms of resistance people are employing. #Portland #Chicago #Resist
Things are happening at Portland's ICE facility tonight.

I cancelled my HBO Max subscription since they continue to carry her work and have not condemned her.
I ran a 5k for the first time this weekend and survived! Up until a month ago, I had never run for more than the bus. It was 85 degrees on Oct 4th, and I'd never run outside, so I had to walk 2/3 of it, but I finished in the middle of all participants. It's never too late to try new things.
Anyone else having a week of FUUUUUUUCK?
I am so disturbed by the politically motivated media silencing of people who made comments about recent events. I feel paralyzed. A lot of terrifying things have been happening in the past 8 months, but this somehow feels worse because it's targeting people we usually think are untouchable. 😩
I'm on Storygraph. You will not be impressed with my poor progress on several books I've started and not finished, but I'm open to new connections. DM me if you want to connect there.
For anyone who doesn't know, #Chicago is a beautiful city filled with talented, warm and passionate people. It's not perfect, but it's most definitely not a hellscape in need of military intervention. We don't want or need the dickwad in charge to send troops here and terrorize us. Leave us alone!
I'm not sure why anyone thinks releasing the #EpsteinFiles will matter. They should be released unredacted, but there is nothing they could say about him that his base or the Republican party will care about. They don't care about the fate of women and children. Why would this change their minds?
I visited a new exhibit at the Field Museum in Chicago this evening, called After the Age of Dinosaurs about the rebirth of the earth after an asteroid destroyed nearly all life, including the dinosaurs. This and other pieces were created for this exhibit by Chicago based artist Jay Ryan.

Thank you on this labor day!!
It's my last day at my job, and I'm feeling positive about my future. In addition to working on my novel, I'm putting myself out there as a nonprofit consultant and career coach. Connect with me on LinkedIn if you're interested in talking. tinyurl.com/pef6n56d

Only 3 days left at a job I've given 3 years of my life to. It's bittersweet, and while I'm a bit nervous about not having my next gig lined up, I also think the universe is giving me a chance to reset and focus on what I want. I'm going to finish my book by the end of the year and run a 5k.
