Finally back in my morning routine of waking up at dawn to listen to the birds before climbing up to my library in the eaves and writing for an hour before work. Perhaps I should add some tea to the routine.

It's always so wild to go back after drafting a novel and reread the very first scenes you wrote with a character, back when you didn't know them well at all.

They really are people. They have personalities and you don't really know who they are at first, not until they reveal themselves to you.

Made a new friend today, and apparently her cat's name is "My F**king Cat". When she comes home from the metaphysical shop she runs, she shouts, "Where's My F**king Cat?!" and he comes running!

One way I've found to help deal with the stress of *waves hands around* all this is to start volunteering with the Red Cross. It's a good way to remind myself that people still care about others. There are ways to volunteer on a small or big level, and even remote opportunities for accessability!

I LIKE being autistic, in the same way I LIKE being queer. I like myself, and the way my brain works

The myriad structural and infrastructural pressures brought to bear on me by cultures hostile to both queer people and neurodivergence aren't my fault, and shouldn't be my problem

The thing about being neurodivergent is that I Like It. What I don’t like is that the world imposes numerous taxes on me for being like this.

I don’t view it as a Me problem.

The pigeon slammed against the glass, trying to get inside and away from the eagle. The eagle, seeing my cat crouched right inside, landed on my balcony railing, watching my cat. I ran over from the couch to close the glass door and the eagle flew away. Cat is safe. Window is smudged. 2/2

BLUF: Don't clean your balcony windows because birds will fly into them.

Context: My balcony glass door was slid open, with just the screen closed to keep my cats inside. A bald eagle (daily sight where I live) chased a pigeon onto my balcony...1/2
