yeah idk, in legends arceus i just assumed it was a nod to the game taking place in the past, but it felt so weird not having the new cry in sv too. it's funny bc i found it so weird having pikachu as the only voiced cry in the gen 6 era, but now im so used to it that it's uncanny being the old one.
