At a workshop / gasshuku / whatever, he asked me to swing on him as hard as I could; I'm not huge, not small; I launched a 刈突き, 'reaping strike' at his jaw just below his right ear (I'm a lefty) and he intercepted with right forearm SO softly and robbed me of my balance, like falling off a cliff.

WWII casualty figures are horrifying; Russia and China suffered the most.

German societ's portrayed as being "duped by the Nazis," so today's Germans aren't broadly vilified.

Fascist Japan had no central figure like Hitler, so the whole society is vilified to this day, despite many apologies.

Each "age" or "era" cohort is supported by a different community or economic organization. This is a really good way to strengthen the bonds of civil society.

I'm puzzled the use of crude language and insults. I'm glad Ford is on our side. Many Republicans have rejected Trumpism.
Many change their views over a lifetime. I've drifted further right on some issues & moved much further left on others. HRC and Joan Didion campaigned for Goldwater in 64.

This is weird: The Tea Party began the attack on the American press by accusing it of liberal bias.

Now we attack it for folding to corporate directives.

Managers of media companies have not navigated the changing landscape very well.

Does following a dangerous or illegal order demonstrate integrity?

Apparently some Marine officers did “decide.”

I’ve foregone advancement because of refusals to lie for bosses.

Yeah, but it’s a class thing.

An analogy is this: When Paris Hilton flashed the paparazzi the press dug it; when her Kenner, LA pal Britney Spears did it, she got a conservatorship.

Consider also the purpose. The Tsars displayed wealth to project power. Trump projects something else. Aspiration?
