*BBIMP is an acronym for Black Brown and Indigenous melanated people (I like the term poc but I favor BBIMP. Just feels more international to me)

She taught me the power of revolutionary optimism and building politically motivated community. The way she weaved poetry into her truth telling is endlessly inspiring to me as an artivist. I am so grateful she lived to share her story with us. I hope her elder years were filled with love

Rest in power Assata! When I was beginning the work of reducating myself on the true history of America, Assata was one of the first Black revolutionaries I engaged with. Assata inspired me to be uncompromising in my principles.
