Perhaps Nigel is unaware that tampons are not intended to be eaten? Given the amount of rubbish he spouts, there is a non zero chance that he actually thinks these tampons are for consumption by vegan men.

He is probably still trying to find someone to pick up the (fairly substantial) bill.

its a benefit because you say it is then? I disagree.
A benefit is conditional, i.e. you can lose it when you don't meet the requirements. State Pension is unconditional, once awarded it can't be taken away till death. It isn't contribution based as NI credits can be awarded, its age based.

No.
And they were never going to,
And all parties were almost certainly aware of that at the outset.
This is performative, prosecute them personally, or admit defeat & move on.

Exemption incoming.
Trump giveth & Trump taketh away.

Boris Johnson couldn't care less. And, given that there won't be any sanctions, he is correct. Sadly.

How come the USA politicians - who caused the shutdown by failing to agree a budget - get paid, when the staff (some of whom are FORCED to work for no pay) do not?
And this is intentional?
And has been the case for decades?
What kind of 2nd class Country are you running there?
b31bowden.bsky.social
Pretty sure, without even bothering to check, that breaking these rules incurs no meaningful penalty - and there is no intention to change this for the future. Once again Al walks on water.

It'll be full of immigrants, like the Hyundai battery factory was.

Nothing wrong with ketchup (and HP) on a spot of bacon (eggs, sausages, tomato.....)

Will the machines refuse to cooperate if not given intellectual credit? I despair.
b31bowden.bsky.social
And why did you need to do a cognitive exam? QED.
b31bowden.bsky.social
Then I fail to understand your point. This seems to be in response to my argument SP isn't a benefit because it's unconditional and you're now agreeing with me? Reassuring but confusing HP!
Good talking with you, however.

Has Jenrick explained why he is supporting an asylum seeker when he wants asylum seekers deported?
Has he been asked?
Why has he not been asked?
(I'm making unsupported assumptions like journalists do).
b31bowden.bsky.social
I'm not, but the internet is.
UC is still conditional, if your health improves, your income rises etc, UC adjusts, or can stop.
UC isn't available to those over State Pension Age unless/whilst they have a partner who is younger.
State Pension is unaffected by anything but death.

Is it the teachers following the National Curriculum who are poisoning our kids, or the ones in Private Schools? Cos he now makes it sound like he is therefore in favour of infanticide.
b31bowden.bsky.social
I'm using 'conditional' in the DWP sense (I used to work there). A conditional benefit means that it is paid while you continue to fulfil its conditions. I can't think of an unconditional benefit. All have a cutoff.
State Pension, once someone qualifies, is paid until death without qualification.
b31bowden.bsky.social
OK. Explain how someone can stop becoming older.
I put quote marks around 'choice' for precisely that reason. The fact remains though, you can't get child benefit without a child, but everyone (not dead, before you remind me) gets older, one day per day.
b31bowden.bsky.social
Plenty eh? So all those stories about people being sanctioned for not meeting DWP conditionality are fake news?
There are so many lovely stories about 'benefit scroungers' where there is nary an example!
b31bowden.bsky.social
Trying not to be patronising, it's only paid to people with children. That's the condition. Not having children is a 'choice'.
b31bowden.bsky.social
Thats what I said. If you don't have the contributions, you claim Universal Credit. You may think separation reinforces that, nobody I know does. State Pension is an earned unconditional entitlement, benefits are conditional.
(un)deserving is a different argument this thread isn't about.

Please don't tell the UK government, they'll probably start taxing Nobel winners and threatening to rescind their visas.
