First game of 2025 complete.
Finished Emio: The Smiling Man. I liked it, but I didn't love it as much as most. It's a slow burn and takes a while to get moving. But the story is engaging enough and it's nice to see Nintendo take on darker themes.

But Hades 2 is just the most perfect sequel. I don't know if it's *better* as such, but being as good as the best rogue-like ever made is still pretty incredible.

The gameplay is as good as ever. Boons, weapons, upgrades are all a lot of fun to experiment with. Characters are excellently written and performed. The music is outstanding. The only issue I had was the lack of accessibility options, making we struggle distinguishing some colours.

Fully finished Hades 2. Pretty much everything you could possibly want out of a sequel. It doesn't do a whole lot different but there's so much more to do, collect, unlock, it's quite overwhelming how much there is to the game.

Specifically, the new age verification law in the UK means the group has access to user's IDs, ages, approximate location, selfies, and other personal information, with a plan to extort Discord.

Legit though, Tim Minchin's 'Storm' is probably my favourite lyrical piece of music. So many amazing lines, but my favourite will always be:

"Science alters its views based on what's observed
Faith is the denial of observation so that belief can be preserved"

That is just lyrical perfection.
