I deal with this strictly through legal channels: every threat or act of harassment becomes new evidence added to ongoing complaints before the relevant authorities.

And if these methods were ever going to work on me, they would have worked three years ago.

I have been facing this systematic campaign of transnational repression — carried out against me by the Egyptian government and its agents acting on its behalf, through its various methods which I have all experienced — since 2022.

This happened just one day after the UN Secretary-General released his report on reprisals against human rights defenders, which explicitly included my case and the targeting I faced in Beirut, Nairobi, Germany, and Geneva.

The senders also managed, once again, to obtain my personal information and phone details.

These messages were later deleted, but I kept full copies and immediately handed them over to my legal teams in different countries.

On 18 September 2025 at 17:00 Berlin time, I received threatening WhatsApp messages on my new German number.
The messages contained explicit sexual insults, direct threats of violence, and attempts to intimidate me by suggesting a wide network was protecting the senders.
