First from the #Naples 🇮🇹 supermarket mini-haul. Note the holiday apartment glassware, not ideal. Billed as a 'blonde beer'. 5.2% ABV. At first I was convinced it was a lager, but it does develop a mild hoppiness akin to an APA. Fairly forgettable but I was thirsty so it went down quickly.

Next up is Jokr. A 'craft beer pub' with only 4 beers on tap. Hey ho. But we've all seen worse beer selections in places with 20+ taps. And it's mercifully quiet. Enjoying this 'Big One' APA from Birrificio Calibro 22.

Moving on to Hoppy Ending, a small but perfectly formed bar and bottle shop. Slightly chaotic, but that could just be me, the gormless foreigner. Tucking into this Piggy Plunderer IPA from Denmark's Amager Bryghus (shame we don't see their excellent beers in the UK anymore!)

Local #Naples 🇮🇹 craft brewers Mosto have a few bars dotted around the city. I found this one in the Vomero neighborhood. Very busy, but then it is a Friday night. Lots of Young People. A very decent beer selection. Enjoying this crisp refreshing saison on a balmy evening.

Accurate label alert! Aroma of a Twix multi-pack. Taste has a dark choccy richness, a black coffee bitterness, a caramelly sweetness, and a biscuity dryness. And it’s all very harmonious. Quality pastry stoutism from Croatia.

Aroma has light caramelism and some distant candied fruits. Taste has a mild nutty roastiness, some black tea, and a hint of treacle toffee. Probably the least exciting of St Bernie’s excellent output, but this is decent Dubbelism nonetheless.

Fruitaceous airiness on the nose. Taste has lots of berryism, with a gentle tartistic overwash. Finishes with a herbolic dryness. Lots of character on display for a modest 3.5% ABV. Quality petiteness from @burningskybeer.bsky.social.

Not too much on the nose, maybe some distant haybales. Not a great deal in the taste either. Very light, almost watery. It’s easy-drinking (I glugged it down in no time), but I’d prefer a bit more character.

Caramelised doughballs on the nose. Light body. Taste has toffee maltism but any excessive sweetness is headed off by a balancing lemony bitterness and a dry, mildly herbaceous, finish. Drinkability + character = a quality festbier!

Meadowistic aroma. Taste is crisp and clean, with some light biscuity maltage, unobtrusive hoppism, and a dry finish. Not really a lot going on here, but it’s a decent, well made, lagery refresher.
