I'd argue that letting hateful people have a platform to themselves without opposition is being directly complicit with their spread. You've directly contributed the perfect echo chamber for hate and disinformation by simply leaving.

I'm actually on Twitter. What I see: nazis free to say whatever they want without accountability, climate change deniers getting more attention than actual scientists, hateful rhetoric winning over the hearts of more people.

Someone just compared me to a climate change denier for "ignoring data." I asked for the data, they sent me an opinion article about why the author left Twitter.

Repeating yourself isn't making you more right. You aren't helping by hiding away on Bluesky while nazis are allowed spread and fester on a major social media platform. The spread of their propaganda is exactly how they seized power in the US.

For the Office of Polar Programs, that's a 70% cut to research and an 100% cut to education. This is the type of stuff that happens when anti-intellectual rhetoric is left unchecked. Bad guys get their way and the good guys are left powerless.

Blogs/opinion pieces from websites not based in the United States where the rise of nazism and fascism is currently the most relevant and dangerous.

In the US, twitter climate change deniers have actual power to f things up. And they're trying to stomp out my field.

What data? You haven't shared any data. You haven't referenced any experts. You haven't logically criticized my points. You haven't really done anything of value in this discussion other than assume my experience and berate me for the image you have of me in your own head.

I'm sharing my experience, not just my opinion. I have seen up-close how disinformation spreads, especially in the absence of intervention.

And I'm sorry, man. I've spoken to a lot of climate change deniers. I've learned how they argue. You exhibit a lot of similar patterns.

I know. And it's not about that. It's about being loud and resistive. It's about being the voice of unrelenting dissent that disgusts and irritates propagandists. It's about damaging their arguments.
