I was very much looking forward to this horror/comedy given the talent that was involved, unfortunately I found the end result to be underwhelming. While Kathryn Newton was excellent and it has some amusing moments, the flat filmmaking made it feel like an episode of a TV show. 2.5/5 #31DaysOfHorror

Even though this isn’t up there as one of the best interpretations of the FRANKENSTEIN novel due to come flaw in the script, I still found it a compelling and interesting one since it focuses more on “The Bride”. The cast all did well in their roles and it is elegantly made. 3.5/5 #31DaysOfHorror

While I give this homage to ‘70s grindhouse horror films credit for capturing the aesthetic/tone of them and having solid performances from its cast, it doesn’t hit as hard as it could have due its a very predictable plot. Plus, the ending was too out there for it’s so good. 2.5/5 #31DaysOfHorror

I wasn’t sure what to expect from this film given the plot is something that could go either way but to my surprise, I found this exploitation horror classic to be pretty damn good. Shonda Locke & Colleen Camp were both terrific and it has very memorable moments throughout it. 3.5/5 #31DaysOfHorror

Well, this was a big surprise. Even though it doesn’t do anything too new, this Argentinian heavy metal/satanic themed horror film was a dark, compelling and intense watch from start to finish. The performances from the cast were strong. Especially lead star Constanza Cardillo. 4/5 #31DaysOfHorror

Oh, man. While this Italian horror film isn’t “good” by any means, it’s so unabashedly insane and weird that I couldn’t help but enjoy it. It’s over-the-top, cheesy, badly dubbed, hilarious and gets even more nuttier as it goes along. In other words, I had a fun time with it. 3/5 #31DaysOfHorror

While I see Lovecraft fans being put off by this loose adaptation of DREAMS IN THE WITCH HOUSE since it doesn’t go to fire into the cosmic elements, I still found this really compelling and well made action horror film nonetheless. Ester Expósito did a great job as the lead. 3.5/5 #31DaysOfHorror

Even though this loose adaptation of HP Lovecraft’s COLOUR OUT OF SPACE is interesting for most part due to its approach and visually it looks great, unfortunately its slightly dull pace and okay execution didn’t make it as engaging as it could’ve been. Karloff was good though. 2.5/5 #31DaysOfHorror

Yeah… I didn’t care for this. While the all-star cast do the best they can and it has some solid nasty gore effects, this was a pretty forgettable slasher film that’s blandly directed/written, way too overlong and has poorly executed satire. Even the villains were mediocre. 1.5/5 #31DaysOfHorror

Despite this Canadian slasher film being reasonably fun and quite ambitious for the low budget it has, sadly it doesn’t reach its potential due to some major flaws. The pacing was sluggish, the satire was obvious and the acting was awful. The killers and gore were cool though. 2.5/5 #31DaysOfHorror
