Now on a 3 wk program for ITB rehab. Mixing up run/walk with strengthening days. Probably all comes from my weak glutes, a recurring problem. Need just as much discipline to come back slowly as to run my normal 6 days/wk.

It’s not often I’m sensible about running but I’ve taken a rare day off due to injury, a sore ITB. I’ve a dilemma whether to have a physio appt or, more likely, get on with the ITB exercises that are commonly prescribed.

Slow morning run, still rehabilitating my ITD. Blustery but the rain held off. Enjoying my audiobook & being able to run in daylight. ITB becoming sore after 4 miles prompting me to head home. Monday miles feel good 👍

Slow ITB recovery run. Great to be out in daylight for a change and to see the (cloud obscured) sunrise. Taking it easy, just a 31 mile week which, considering the ITB injury, is ok. Smiles before miles 👍

I was made redundant from BP 10 years ago & it still hurts that no-one said thank you. Some of BP’s core values are Respect, Excellence & One Team, values which should underpin everything we did. I feel the company & my managers failed to demonstrate these values.But hey, I’m retired & enjoying life

ITB rehabilitation continues. Thought I’d go for a slow 6 mile run but as all was well I ran a bit more. I’ll continue my stretching at home. With the clocks changing tomorrow’s run might even be in daylight 👍

ITB rehabilitation run. Still a bit tight/twingey but not painful. An easy run around the park (fox count =5). More ITB stretching required today but hopefully back to running again tomorrow 🤞.

I have porridge cooked with soya milk and with a spoon of peanut butter (for protein) plunged into the centre, to help it melt, then with banana or red fruit on the top. Add a sprinkle of brown sugar. Good recovery breakfast after a morning run.

I had a hernia op last year and I was back to running within 5 weeks. Time to plan for new adventures!
