Bio time 😀👍

I'm an agoraphobic programmer who loves a good video game and lots of greenery. I've decided to commit to the #100DaysOfCode challenge to hone my skills further.

I'm also a #GameDev who slowly is developing a retail game.

I post daily on my progress and nerdy things that catch my eye!
I certainly will! Many thanks!
TLDR current job is unsustainable. I have a design document, 10 years of programming experience and have made several smaller games. I'm currently deciding on using Python or Godot but already have a fair bit of work done on the player class, combat system, and more. think Might and Magic meets AD&D

Developing games, especially in the indie scene, can be difficult. Crunch is hurting game developers, puts pressure on everyone and we want to help!

We are all about being a community driven mutual aid system.

We are community-funded, developer-led and sustainability focused.

I would love to be a part of the FPC as an indie developer!! Please feel free to message me directly, I'd love to have a talk sometime!
#100DaysOfCode Day 41 - Today was easy peasy, HTML. We covered

,

-

,
,
, and how webpages "work". Nothing new here and probably won't be for the next several days at least but the projects should be interesting at least.

I was going to #gamedev after, but this showed up. So...
I'm in the industry and have been for years. I still don't have an answer to this 😅
#100DaysOfCode Day 40 - Tomorrow I will be going to be the 'regular course', which is going to be super easy (HTML). Today was more #gamedev, I'm guessing some of tomorrow will as well.

Day two of Python Arcade - figured out collisions, gravity, inputs, and the camera.
I don’t have a rubber duck to debug with but I have a cat!

Sadly, he also has some bugs.

#100DaysOfCode #gamedev
#100DaysOfCode Day 39 - I made an executive decision. Project for today and tomorrow in the course I'm in is just more API work (nothing new) and deals with a flight tracker. I'm 0% interested in this, so instead, I did some #gamedev

Researched my options for python frameworks, learning Arcade atm.
#100DaysOfCode Day 38 - Well, today was _supposed_ to be doing a fitness program thing, but the company whose API we are supposed to use no longer offers free API's.

So instead, I read a bunch of pygame docs, made a little stick figure dude, and figured out how inputs / images / collisions work
Bookmarked that, thanks a ton! 👍💯
#100DaysOfCode Day 37 - Today we worked with Pixela, which is a pretty neat program! You can use it to track anything that can be tracked with an integer or float. I went overboard and build a little CLI for it as I plan on actually using this to track my time from here forward

#programming #Python
#100DaysOfCode Day 36 - I took the 'extra hard' path for today's project (no instruction whatsoever, just do the thing). Not much to show visually again today, but the project grabs the closing for the last 24 hours on a stock, gives last 3 news pieces, and sends this information via SMS once a day!
#100DaysOfCode Day 35 - Today was more API fun. I'm a weather nut, so I had a fun time messing around with OpenWeathers' API. Not much to show visually today, but we set up a project that will send a SMS if it's going to rain in the next 12 hours.
#100DaysOfCode Day 34 - Today we revisited a project from several weeks ago and updated it to use tkinter and pull directly from the open trivia database's API. Ended up with a little video-game quiz thingy, which I suck at, as it turns out.
the International Space Station... if it comes within 5 degrees of my house as it's flying past, (if I set this all up right) my python script will send me an email as long as it's after dark.

We'll see if that happens lol
That's awesome, glad to hear!! that sounds like a good plan of action too!
#100DaysOfCode Day 33 (yesterday was 32) - Today was pretty cool! We messed with a few API's. The end project was setting up an ISS watcher. If I did everything right, hopefully tonight I'll get an email if it's within 5 degrees and night time.

Also made this 😅 Kanye quote API is a thing.

#Python
(mind you, he works fine in my other UI, but I'm damned stubborn and this UI I'm currently using is leagues better in every other way than this one-off problem. OF COURSE, it had to be Deckard that took the hit *sigh*)
Alright, so update on poor, poor Deckard. I spent several hours compiling the source code of the model, condensing it to GGUF format, quantized it to q4 with llama.cpp's quantize, and finally converted it to ollama with all my custom parameters put in.

...I have to research more.

#ai #poorDeckard
I'm actually taking a Udemy class that's covering everything python as a 100-day challenge. How about yourself?
Er my mistake, today is Day 32
#100DaysOfCode Day 33 - Today was again a fairly cool project. I'd never worked with SMTP in Python before. Incredibly easy! My solution was quite compact compared to the teach but it sends a birthday based on if it's the right birthdate pulling from a CSV and then sending out a b-day email

#Python
I uh... kinda broke Deckard 😅 New UI required me to convert it to a different format and for whatever reason, it's REALLY not taking well haha

Spent several hours last night working on him but he really doesn't seem to like that UI.

Don't worry Deckard. I'm coming for you.
